Cresset Continues Family Office Build-Out

Cresset Family Office, the recently-launched business, has recruited three new senior figures to join its team. Most recently, McEahern was head of wealth planning for Wells Fargo’s private bank. Prior to that he was an attorney in the Denver area. In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor, McEahern has been admitted to the Colorado and District of Columbia Bar Associations and is a Registered Investment Advisor Representative. He earned his Masters of Law and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Denver College of Law; and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science, as well as Criminal Justice and Criminology, from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Dan Terlep has joined as senior managing director of financial and tax strategy; Tony McEahern, joins as senior MD, wealth planning; and Joel Alberts, joins as client advisor, Midwest Region.
Terlep is an experienced accounting and financial professional with a focus on tax planning, estate planning and operational planning for ultra-high net worth family offices, family-owned enterprises, private equity and real estate businesses. Previously, he was a senior manager for RSM, where he led family office restructuring efforts to maximize family objectives, governance and tax considerations. Terlep is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University.
Alberts will serve the Midwest market, based in Minneapolis. Most recently, he was a director with Abbot Downing of Wells Fargo. In addition to managing client relationships, he is experienced in working with closely-held business owners and addressing wealth transfer planning objectives. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Iowa College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central University of Iowa.
